Reading Guide

PetitMaker is a free, unofficial map-planning tool for Petit Planet, maintained by PetitMaker Team. Maps are primarily stored in your browser. You can export files yourself or choose to connect a third-party AI service.

Please pay particular attention to Article 4 on AI services and fees, Article 5 on content and user responsibility, Article 7 on exported data, and Articles 9–12 on backups, limitations and liability. Export reminders and help documentation explain the features and usage requirements; the applicable rights and obligations are governed by these terms and applicable law.

1. Scope and Definitions

These terms apply to the PetitMaker web application and its accompanying pages. “We” means PetitMaker Team; “you” means the person using the tool.

“User content” includes maps, designs, planning annotations, titles, descriptions, author credits, footers, reference images, AI instructions and generated results that you enter, import, draw, modify or select. “Exported content” includes map saves, images and the recoverable map data they contain.

The source code and third-party components have their own open-source licenses. Asset usage is described in Asset Licenses. These terms preserve rights already granted by those licenses. Your use of an AI service or publishing platform is also subject to your applicable agreement with that service.

2. Reading and Acceptance

Please read these terms before using the tool. Questions can be sent to petit.maker@outlook.com. Please use the tool only once you understand and accept the applicable terms. We will provide any additional notice or explanation, and obtain any consent, required by law.

Minors should use the tool with a parent or guardian's guidance and consent, in a manner appropriate to their age and understanding. Where the law requires a parent or guardian to act on a minor's behalf or give consent, those requirements apply. Their duties of guidance and protection, and the extent of their responsibility, are determined by applicable law.

Third-party AI services may have separate age, region and account requirements. Consent to use this tool does not replace those requirements.

3. Service Description

PetitMaker provides map editing, rule checks, generation, annotations, previews, saving, import and export. Designs help you plan and build manually in the game. The tool does not write maps into the game or operate your game account.

The editor checks the building rules it implements. Game versions, actual building conditions and the editor's implementation may differ. Whether a design can be built in full depends on the game itself.

The tool provides browser-local map storage rather than user accounts, cloud map saves or a public gallery service. Maps are stored in the current browser and files you export. Data sent by online AI features is described in Article 4 and the Privacy Policy.

PetitMaker is an independent fan project, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by miHoYo / HoYoverse (COGNOSPHERE PTE. LTD.).

4. AI Features, Keys and Fees

The Agent and online illustration features require an API key you are entitled to use. Requests go from your browser to the selected provider or an endpoint you configure, without a project-operated AI proxy. Key validation, candidate-provider identification and model-directory requests are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Please confirm that you trust the endpoint and meet the provider's account, region, age and permitted-use requirements. Providers may charge for generation, retries and multi-step tasks; their billing records determine actual charges. The tool provides no hard spending cap. Stopping a task or undoing map changes does not recall requests already sent or automatically refund charges already incurred.

Procedural and on-device model styles run on your device without an image-provider key. Online illustration sends the map rendering and the instructions or reference images needed for generation to the selected service.

AI-generated results may fail to follow your instructions, omit details or contain unsuitable material. Review the final result and its sources before using, exporting or publishing it. Model-generated illustrations carry an AI-drawn label; map provenance is included according to the relevant export options. This information reflects activity recorded by the tool, rather than certifying authenticity or ownership. When publishing, make the AI disclosures required by applicable law and platform rules, and retain legally required labels.

5. Content Rules and User Responsibility

5.1 Content Requirements

Use the tool for map design and related discussion, respecting other people's dignity, privacy, intellectual property and other lawful rights. The following content and activities fall outside the tool's permitted use:

• Creating or distributing content prohibited by law, or using maps, images, annotations or text to carry out unlawful activities.
• Insulting, defaming, threatening, discriminating against or harassing individuals or groups, or encouraging others to do so.
• Creating or distributing pornography, sexual exploitation, sexualized content involving minors, or content that promotes terrorism or extremism or uses graphic violence to distress others.
• Disclosing personal information without a lawful basis, impersonating others, or using false content for deception, fraud or other harm.
• Claiming another person's work as your original creation, inventing permission or affiliations, or presenting exports as approved by the game's publisher, this project or another third party.

Text added to exported files is intended to describe maps. Political topics and website links fall outside the permitted scope. These are product requirements for export content, Agent tasks and illustration requests, and the tool may decline requests that fall outside them. Game-related material and publication on third-party platforms must also follow the applicable game-content and platform rules.

5.2 Automatic Checks

The tool automatically checks some export text and map images. Results can affect previews and exports. The checks have limited understanding of context and coverage: they may miss content, flag it incorrectly or fail to finish.

An absence of warnings, a displayed preview or a completed export does not mean that content has been reviewed by a person, complies with the law or has permission from the relevant rights holder. You still need to review the actual exported content and how it will be distributed. If a check appears incorrect, you can edit the content, retry where offered or contact petit.maker@outlook.com.

Exporting without added text changes the attached text, not the content requirements for the map itself. Evading checks to create or distribute content prohibited by this article also violates these terms. Good-faith research under the Security Policy, and ordinary modifications or research permitted by an open-source license, are not treated as abuse merely for that reason.

5.3 Responsibility for Use

You are responsible for the content you create, enter, modify, select and distribute, and for your related actions. If your unlawful, infringing or conduct that breaches these terms causes harm, you bear the responsibility attributable to that conduct under applicable law. Using AI, third-party material or automatic checks does not remove your legal obligations.

If you discover infringement or another problem in material you have published, promptly stop distributing it and correct or remove the content within your control, or ask the publishing platform to help. Copies saved or forwarded by others generally cannot be recalled through this tool.

Our own legal duties and liabilities remain in place. Responsibility in a dispute depends on the actual conduct, harm, causal connection and applicable law. This article does not make you responsible for unrelated conduct by third parties.

5.4 Service and System Security

Use accounts, keys and systems only with authorization, preserve the normal operation of the site and its infrastructure, and keep testing within authorized, non-destructive limits. The scope and reporting process for good-faith security research are set out in the Security Policy.

6. Creative Rights and Asset Use

You retain the rights you lawfully hold in your original contributions. Using the tool neither transfers those rights to us nor gives you ownership of third-party characters, icons, map templates, trademarks or other included material.

You may share exports under Asset Licenses, including the permission it expressly gives for embedded project branding and original art. Extracting or separately reusing assets, or commercial use, may require further permission from the relevant rights holder.

The project grants permission only within its authority. Ownership and permitted uses of generated content may also depend on source material, the generation method, provider terms and applicable law.

7. Exports, Sharing and Recoverable Data

JSON saves contain map data. The Planning annotations option is enabled by default; turning it off excludes annotation data. Depending on your selections, these files may also include notes, generation details, provenance, undo history and editor state. A file with undo history may retain earlier content that is no longer visible on the current map.

When Importability is enabled and code generation succeeds, a share image includes a PetitGlyph map code. Anyone holding the image may recover its map and annotations, including annotations hidden from the picture. Show notes affects the rendered picture only. To share the picture alone, choose Plain image or turn off Importability.

A plain image still shows its visible text and designs. Choose recipients and publication settings based on the information the file actually contains. Sharing a file with recoverable map data does not itself grant the recipient a copyright license to adapt or distribute the work. You may separately specify permission to adapt or republish your work.

Export creates a file on your device; it does not automatically publish a work to this project. Uploading, editing or forwarding that file on another platform uses that platform's service.

8. Service Changes and Discontinuation

We may update, change or discontinue features or the service. We will seek to give advance notice of significant changes through the site or project repository where practical. Urgent maintenance, security issues or legal requirements may require immediate action.

Discontinuing the site does not automatically delete files you have downloaded. Browser data can still be cleared, and compatibility can affect whether later software opens older files, so please keep your own backups.

For violations within our control, we may take necessary and proportionate measures, such as limiting the affected export, correcting functionality or addressing content on project pages. The tool does not host a user-content platform and cannot delete files or suspend accounts on other platforms.

9. Saving and Backups

Autosave helps restore progress in the current browser; it is not an independent backup. Browser cleanup, private browsing, storage failures, device damage or accidental actions can cause data loss. We hold no cloud copy from which to restore your work.

For long-term storage or editing on another device, export a JSON save and review the additional sections included. If you use a share image as a backup, confirm that it contains a usable map code and retain the original file. Plain images cannot restore an editable map.

10. Functional Limits and Warranties

The tool is provided with the functionality currently available. We maintain it and fix known problems, but do not guarantee continuous availability, error-free operation, suitability for every purpose or complete representation of the game's rules. Automatic checks, map generation and AI outputs each have limitations.

Review results for your intended use. Warranties and duties that applicable law does not allow us to exclude remain unaffected. Warranty terms in the source-code license apply within that license's own scope.

11. Allocation and Limitation of Liability

Whether we are responsible for a loss, and the extent of that responsibility, depend on applicable law and the facts. Providing the tool free of charge does not itself remove our legal responsibility.

Where applicable law permits such a limitation, we are not liable for indirect losses or loss of anticipated benefits arising from use of the tool. This does not exclude or limit our legal liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence or fraud, our legal liability for personal injury, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Losses involving user content, third-party services, devices or networks are not automatically attributable to the project. Where fault or another legal basis makes us responsible, applicable law governs that responsibility.

12. Statutory Rights

Your mandatory consumer protections, personal-information rights and other non-excludable legal rights remain unaffected. Mandatory applicable law prevails over any conflicting term.

13. Content and Intellectual-Property Complaints

Please contact petit.maker@outlook.com about content on project pages, bundled assets or tool functionality. For intellectual-property complaints, use [IP] in the subject and provide the content's location, the basis of your rights, a description of the issue and your contact information, together with confirmation that your information is truthful and accurate.

We will assess the information, request further details where needed and take appropriate action required by law on matters within our control, then communicate the outcome. Disputed facts may require further investigation; an unverified allegation alone does not establish infringement.

If a complaint concerns a user's work published elsewhere, please also use that platform's reporting process. Contacting us does not affect your right to complain to an authority or seek other legal remedies.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

The applicable law and the authority with jurisdiction are determined under the relevant legal rules. These terms preserve any local remedies the law provides to you.

You are welcome to contact petit.maker@outlook.com first, but doing so is not a prerequisite to making a lawful complaint, seeking dispute resolution or bringing proceedings.

15. Relationship Between Documents

These terms describe service-use rules. The Privacy Policy explains the handling of personal information and other data; Asset Licenses describes asset permissions; and the Security Policy covers good-faith research and vulnerability reporting.

Help and export reminders do not create additional waivers of rights or releases from liability. Open-source licenses, third-party licenses and valid individual agreements apply within their respective scopes.

16. Severability

If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, applicable law determines its treatment. Other provisions that can apply independently remain effective.

17. Exercise of Rights

A party's delay or failure to exercise a right does not automatically waive that right. Its effect depends on applicable law and any valid agreement between the parties.

18. Changes of Operator

We will publish information about a change in the project's operator. Transfers of rights or duties and changes in personal-information handling will follow applicable notice, consent and other legal requirements, while preserving your statutory rights.

19. Notices and Contact

Service notices and document updates are published on the site and in the project repository. Without user accounts, we generally cannot contact every visitor individually. Any legally required individual notice or further consent will be handled accordingly.

20. Language and Interpretation

The English and Chinese versions should express the same rights and duties. Differences or ambiguities are interpreted under applicable law, rather than used to increase your obligations or reduce statutory rights.

Headings help navigation. Examples introduced by “including” or “for example” should be read in the context of the relevant provision.

21. Updates to These Terms

We will update the displayed policy version and effective date when these terms change. Significant changes to rights and duties will receive reasonable notice; any further notice or consent required by law will be handled accordingly.
